What is take and make?

Meal kit services are reinventing the way we shop, cook and eat but in a positive, healthy way. Busy people, who care about eating fresh, home-cooked meals are flocking to the concept of meals-in-a-box. These contain pre-measured ingredients along with easy-to-follow recipes. They offer busy people and their families exactly what’s required to cook meals without the hassle of shopping plus there are no leftover ingredients that may normally end up being thrown out.

We at Edinburgh Community Food have developed healthy and affordable meal packs. We want to encourage people to cook more vegetables but also make this easy to do. Our Take & Make Meal Packs have everything you need to make delicious, nutritious meals.

While these packs don’t contain any meat, fish or dairy, they have everything required to make complete and delicious meals just as they are; however, if you prefer, you can add any of the above yourself while cooking.

You can order your Take & Make DIY Meal packs through us by emailing orders@edinburghcommunityfood.org.uk. If you order by 11am you can pick them up the next day from one of the pick-up points listed below. We will deliver free of charge if you spend at least £15 (Edinburgh only).

If you want to know more or think that you could host a pick-up point, please call us on 0131 467 7326 and ask for Karen.
