Edinburgh Community Food and LINKnet Mentoring are pleased to announce our upcoming Eat Well for Oral Health trainer the trainer session.  This will be delivered online and will be a pilot for future courses.

‘Eat Well for Oral Health’ is a community-based food skills and nutrition project to drive oral health improvements for those affected by socio-economic and race inequalities across Edinburgh, the Lothians with the aim to reach across Scotland. 

What do you get out of it?

  • Gain a clear understanding of general nutrition and oral health
  • Gain practically applicable knowledge for the workplace and the home
  • Understand the consequences of eating habits on health and disease
  • Identify different ways of preparing and cooking foods for a healthy diet
  • Learn how to make sense of food labelling

Who is it suitable for?

The course is open to those supporting people in their community to reduce health inequalities and who are interested in nutrition and oral health, along with those whose work or volunteering involves the handling or preparation of food. 

The train the trainer course will cover the following topics:

  • An introduction to evidence based nutrition knowledge
  • Oral health key messages 
  • Weaning advice
  • Fussy Eating support
  • Key points for running a cooking group
  • Further training on offer including NES Oral Health Digital Badges
