News and Events Latest News Caroline Walker Trust Charity Campaigner of the Year Award Staff at Edinburgh Community Food are absolutely delighted to receive the Caroline Walker Trust Charity Campaigner of the Year Award. We could not have done this without our partners on the Be A Healthier Me partnership programme: Polish Family Support Centre, Networking Key Services, Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equalities Council and MILAN Senior Welfare Organisation. We initially created the Be A Healthier Me pilot programme because we felt so strongly about responding to the immediate needs of the BME community. The feedback we received has reaffirmed the value of such a programme. Therefore, future funding is essential if we are to provide programmes such as Be a Healthier Me as we continue to tackle health inequalities for the most vulnerable in our communities. As we continue to respond to needs exposed by the pandemic, we believe that all our communities in Edinburgh deserve improved health, improved mental well-being and access to culturally appropriate healthy food. This is an integral part of our legacy and what we do. We would like to thank our partners for their hard work, diligence and passion and for being such a joy to work with. And, of course, for making this project such a huge success. The award means so much to us and we’re very honoured to have had our work recognised in this way. Edinburgh Community Food are currently planning a second Be A Healthier Me for 2022 which we’re greatly looking forward to! Manage Cookie Preferences
