Edinburgh Community Food (ECF) wish to support older and elderly members of our multinational community to reconnect as we emerge from the pandemic. Older people have been particularly affected by isolation and the ongoing worry of Covid-19. Lockdown has been detrimental to both physical and mental health and many older people are at risk of malnutrition. ECF will support older members of our community through the following activities:

  • We will utilise our expertise as nutritionists to develop specialised tailored food hampers which meet the nutritional needs of older people to mitigate the risk of malnutrition and associated conditions. These hampers will be hand-delivered.

  • We will host a series of community meals and film screenings in the local area. This aims to reduce social isolation and increase mental wellbeing.

  • We will provide staff, volunteers and participants with specialised REHIS ‘Eating Well for Older People’ training to provide sustainable skills and confidence in the community.

Thank you 🍓
