The 'Family Cooking Project' has been running at
Niddre Mill Primary School for three terms. Due to its success it has now been awarded further funding from The Food for Thought Education fund.

The Family Cooking Project was initially set up to improve parental engagement within the school. The cooking sessions allow for both children, parents and carers time together in the school to learn basic cooking skills and discuss a range of healthy eating topics such as How to Eat Well on a Budget, the Eat Well Guide, Oral Health and Sugar, Salt and Fat.

The cooking sessions are offered to parents for a 6 week block.

The project was featured in the latest ELATE newsletter written by the class teacher Cat Maclean. You can read this here
