    Niddre Mill Primary School

    We are currently delivering a Family Cooking Project to Niddre Mill Primary School as part of the Food for Thought Education fund. These sessions allow both children, parents and carers to take part in cooking a healthy dish together and learn about a wide variety of healthy eating topics.

    Hailesland Early Years Centre

    We are working in partnership with Hailesland Early Years Centre to provide 'Family Cooking' sessions. These sessions invite families to take part in cooking a meal from scratch and sit down and enjoy the meal together afterwards. Each session is based upon a healthy eating topic such as the Eat Well Guide, Early Years Nutrition or Oral Health.

    Little Leithers

    Litter Leithers is for parents in Leith with children under the age of 5 who are in receipt of Best Start Vouchers (previously Healthy Start Vouchers). Our aim is to increase families' accessibility to healthier foods and improve understanding of the link between food and health with a focus on affordability.

    Discover!

    This free holiday activity programme run by City of Edinburgh Council aims to provide fun learning activities for children and families to share. It tackles food insecurity by serving breakfast and lunch and teaches healthy eating and cookery skills through cooking sessions run by Edinburgh Community Food.

  • Food Friends

    ‘Food Friends’ project in partnership with Viewpoint Housing and funded by Eat Well, Age Well. Residents of sheltered housing, aged 65 years and above take part in a weekly 3hr cooking session.

    The Willow Project

    The Willow Project is a service created by NHS Lothian and City of Edinburgh Council to address the social, health and welfare needs of women in the criminal justice system. Edinburgh Community Food works within this service to support the nutritional needs of the women visiting the centre.

    Tasting Change Wester Hailes

    Edinburgh Community Food have been working in partnership with the Health Agency to develop and deliver their 'Tasting Change' project in the Wester Hailes area of the city.

    Out and About Project - South Edinburgh

    This project is run in partnership with Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust and funded by City of Edinburgh Council and NHS Lothian and aims to increase social capital, promote healthy lifestyles and reduce health inequalities through community development.
