Get involved Join Our Board of Directors We’d like to encourage more of the individuals, groups and organisations that we work with to think about becoming Members of Edinburgh Community Food and putting someone forward to become a director and join our board. If you would like to know more about being a member, our board, or becoming a director, please email [email protected] Our board of directors is elected from and by our members Our day-to-day work is carried out and managed by our staff team. Ensuring that we comply with company law and OSCR’s rules and regulations, and are running properly, is the responsibility of our board of directors. Members of ECF can put forward someone from their group to stand for election and become a board member. We want more of our group members to think about putting someone forward to become a director. If you’d like more information about what our board does, and about becoming a board member and what this involves, please get in touch. I want to put myself forward to become a director. What do I need to do? Please send us (in an email – see below, or in a letter): • Your name • A few sentences on why you want to be a director (including what skills, knowledge and expertise you would bring to ECF). This should be no longer than 100 words. You need to include your signature, and a signature of another member of ECF. I’d like to nominate someone else to become a director. How do I do this? Like above, we need to receive an email or letter from you which includes: • The member’s name • A few sentences about why you think they should become a director (including what skills or expertise they would bring to ECF). This should be no longer than 100 words. You need to include your signature and that of the person you want to nominate (so that we know they are willing to be nominated). If any of the above is going to be difficult for you, please contact us.
