Our suppliers

We at Edinburgh Community Food source locally wherever possible.

Seasonal and local food is fresher, tastier and more nutritious as it hasn't travelled so far to reach your table. Fresh fruits and vegetables begin to lose nutrients as soon as they are picked.

We try to source our fresh products locally to support growers and throughout the year, we may source our food from different suppliers. Here are some of those who we buy from.

Blacketyside Farm - Strawberries and Cherries via Mark Murphy from June to the end of August.  Blacketyside Farm also provide us with Kale. Click here to find out more about our visit to Blacketyside Farm.

Kettle Produce, Fife – Carrots

GC Growers, Ayrshire – Carrots and Beetroot

Forth Eggs based in Newton - free range eggs

Greenvale, Duns – Bakers and Baby Potatoes

Kettle Produce, Fife - Potatoes

Jock Tamson's Gairden, Duddingston - a range of fresh herbs, salad leaves, garlic

Organic Vegetables

Chapel Farm in East Lothian - Organic Vegetables from September to March

Jams and Chutneys

We sell Jams, Chutneys and Sauces from Craigies Farm in South Queensferry, Edinburgh.

Infused Oils and Regular Oils

Supernature based in Gorebridge - infused oils and regular oils

Healthier Option Snacks

We have been delighted to supply healthier option snacks from Bramik Foods based in Livingston for a number of years. These products make a great addition to our gift hampers!

‘Bramik Foods are proud to have Edinburgh Community Foods as one its major customers. Bramik Foods was established in 1981 and is a privately owned company. The company specialises in healthy products. We pack and distribute a vast range of nuts, dried fruits, pulses, grains, herbs and spices, and chocolate and yoghurt products. The majority of our products are hand packed and we take great care to ensure all of our products are of the best quality. Edinburgh Community Foods have been a customer since 2010 and we look forward to helping ECF with the excellent work they do over the coming years’.

Edinburgh Community Food work with a number of other fruit & veg wholesalers across Edinburgh, Lothian and Fife.
