Membership Edinburgh Community Food, like lots of other community food initiatives, is a membership organisation, a charity and a company (legally, we are a company limited by guarantee with charitable status). As a membership organisation, we are run by and for our members. By becoming a Member you will help ensure that everyone in Edinburgh has access to healthy, affordable food. Our members have powers to make fundamental decisions about Edinburgh Community Food As a Member you have powers to decide: How ECF is controlled and managed, and Who is elected to the board of Directors (see below), to oversee how we are run on your behalf And, you have the right to: Attend our Annual General Meetings (AGM), and any other meetings we hold for Members (called General Meetings) Elect Directors for our board Vote on any proposals that are discussed at our AGM or other General Meetings Call a General Meeting for our members, to put forward a proposal for discussion. Our board of directors is elected from and by our Members Our day-to-day work is carried out and managed by our staff team. Ensuring that we comply with company law and The Scottish Charity Regulator's (OSCR) rules and regulations, and are running properly, is the responsibility of our board of Directors.
