We are running a community development project in the South of Edinburgh in partnership with Out and About and Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust and funded by the City of Edinburgh Council and NHS.

What's happening?

As part of our Out and About project in partnership with Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust, we run ONLINE and in-person

cooking groups where members of the community get together to cook and eat healthy food.   We promote healthy eating, give talks on how to live a healthy lifestyle and even offer free access to our REHIS accredited qualifications. We have recently started offering cooking groups the opportunity to participate in the Food & Health qualification within the cook club.

The project is for residents of Dumbiedykes, Oxgangs & South East Edinburgh.

So far we've reached a diverse range of people including families, older people, black and minority ethics groups, people with learning disabilities and those attending mental health support groups.

Next course dates:

Gracemount primary men's club - starts Friday 26th of January - -9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Craigour primary school - starts Wednesday 31st of January - 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM
Pentland Community Centre - starts Thursday 1st of February - 2:00 PM to 3.30 PM

With current sessions taking place in Schools, new cook clubs Out & About in the community will be planned for Spring 2024.
